    The D-18 Modern Deluxe is a new take on Martin Vintage. This guitar is packed with custom features and modern technology that you have to see, feel, and hear for yourself. The vintage appointments include a Sitka spruce Vintage Tone System (VTS) top, a dovetail neck joint, and natural protein glue construction that give it the rich, fully aged Martin tone that has inspired generations. The look is unlike anything in our production line to date with East Indian rosewood binding, stylish gold frets, gold open-gear tuners, and a unique 1930s style script logo inlaid in pearl on the headstock. Some ultra-modern features include a titanium truss rod, Liquidmetal® bridge pins with red dots, and a composite carbon fiber bridgeplate that boosts volume without adding weight. And we’ve included a new neck shape that is slightly asymmetrical for maximum hand comfort up and down the fretboard. This guitar is anything but standard. Hardshell Case Included.

    Martin D-28 Authentic 1937 VTS
    Perhaps the most revered vintage D-28s are the ones created in 1937 with forward-shifted hand-scalloped X-bracing, an Adirondack spruce top, and a 1 3/4" neck width. This model is an updated version made with Guatemalan rosewood back and sides, and it includes some subtle spec refinements to make it even more faithful to the original. One of the major updates is a more accurate body profile based on dreadnoughts from the 1930s and 40s. Martin’s VINTAGE TONE SYSTEM® (VTS) is employed to age the top and braces, which captures the tone from the 1930s era. Martin’s craftspeople can recreate the pleasing visual aesthetics of a vintage guitar and reproduce the particular tones previously reserved for vintage instruments.

Was re-fretted recently along with a neck reset *(ED. Most likely not a neck reset)*, the bridge was slotted and saddle lowered to lower action; making this example extremely easy to play though modified. Feel free to contact us with any questions!

    Here’s some info from Martin (1972 Catalog): “This 12-string guitar is constructed with a Dreadnought-size body of quarter-sawn mahogany and a resonant spruce top. The slim, 12-fret neck, also of genuine mahogany, ensures playing ease. Multiple-unit tuning machines, side-mounted. Typical Martin appointments provide traditional quality. This instrument may be tuned to standard guitar pitch. Polished lacquer finish.”
