  • Gibson Hummingbird Standard EC Heritage Cherry Sunburst
Gibson Hummingbird Standard EC Heritage Cherry Sunburst
The Gibson Hummingbird™ is known for its versatility. It has always been equally well suited for strumming first-position chords and taking the spotlight for picking lead lines. The Hummingbird has become more versatile and expressive than ever with the introduction of the Hummingbird Standard EC. Like the Hummingbird Standard, the Hummingbird Standard EC’s mahogany body and sweet, select Sitka spruce top are more than capable of holding down the rhythm in the hands of a rock and roll sideman or accompanying the most nuanced performance under the fingers of today’s alternative singer-songwriter, but with the addition of the cutaway on the Hummingbird Standard EC, the access to the upper frets is significantly increased, making this the Hummingbird of choice for lead players and others who require increased note range and enhanced expressiveness. The Hummingbird’s mahogany neck has a comfortable Round SlimTaper™ profile and mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays. This ‘bird has a TUSQ® nut, saddle, and bridge pins, Grover® Rotomatic® tuners, the iconic Hummingbird graphics on the pickguard, and is equipped with L.R. Baggs™ VTC electronics, so it’s ready to plug in on stage or in the studio from the moment you take it out of the included hardshell case.

  • Guild D-55E, Antique Burst Nitro
    Guild D-55E, Antique Burst Nitro
First introduced in 1968 as a special-order top-of-the-line model, the D-55 was so well-received that Guild added it into the regular production line by 1974. Famously played by Tommy Smothers on the Smothers Brothers Show in the 1960s, the D-55 grew in both popularity and longevity over the decades, finding homes in the hands of more contemporary artists like Waylon Jennings, Billie Joe Armstrong, and David Nail. The most anticipated return of a Guild acoustic to date, the 2017 Guild D-55 is back and better than ever. The D-55 remains true to all the premium appointments of its 1968 predecessor, including a AAA Sitka spruce top, solid Indian Rosewood back and sides, ebony fingerboard and bridge, and nitrocellulose finish. Internal refinements include scalloped Adirondack bracing as well as an improved dovetail neck-joint, hand fit to make this generation of D-55 the lightest, loudest, and best-sounding yet. The D-55 showcases Guild’s most recognizable headstock which is fully bound and features the Guild “Peak and Shield” inlay combination over a figured ebony overlay. The matching ebony fingerboard is also fully bound and inlayed with Guild’s iconic abalone/pearl “V-Blocks” and multi-line “railroad track” purfling on the bass and treble sides. The D-55’s fingerboard is set on an all-mahogany neck with beautiful walnut center seam running the length of the heel to headstock.

The look is unlike anything in our production line to date with East Indian rosewood binding, stylish gold frets, gold open-gear tuners, and a unique 1930s style script logo inlaid in pearl on the headstock. Some ultra-modern features include a titanium truss rod, Liquidmetal® bridge pins with red dots, and a composite carbon fiber bridgeplate that boosts volume without adding weight. And we’ve included a new neck shape that is slightly asymmetrical for maximum hand comfort up and down the fretboard. This guitar is anything but standard. Hardshell Case Included.

Unique details include custom moon phase inlays on the fingerboard, a silver Martin headplate logo, oval tuner buttons, and a vintage sunburst top—all paired with a vintage-style light blue molded hardshell case reminiscent of those issued in the 1970s.
